The Angeles Crest 100 Mile
Endurance Run
August 3, 2013
The 26th Annual AC100 was run today under beautiful
blue skies and mid 80 degree temperatures...
*
*
...high clouds and a nice breeze made conditions
for the run very pleasant...
~
A mile out on the Pacific Crest Trail...
*
*
...just below the Cloud Burst Summit checkpoint,
at the 37 mile mark of the race, beautiful
cedar trees made for the perfect shade spot...
*
*
...to sit and wait for the lead runners
to come by...
*
*
First Male Runner
*
*
First Female Runner
*
The Mt. Hillyer check point at 49.7 miles...
...runners can sit a bit under the shade of
the canopies....
...refill their water bottles or have a
tasty snack or two before heading out once again
to conquer the remaining 50 miles ahead of them.
~
It's hard to believe that they will be running
non-stop through the night as we sleep
soundly in our comfortable beds...and as
we wake in the morning and take our first
sip of coffee, runner after runner will be
crossing the finish line...accomplishing
something incredibly monumental.
