"Through The Neighborhoods I Go....4 Miles"

...the new shoes went out for their first
run today. A small 4 mile, slightly hilly,
horseshoe loop that always comes in handy...
...I do like my new shoes, even if they look
like something a football referee might wear...
they're comfortable, and that's what matters most...
and for $29.99,(Brooks Glycerins went for around
$130.00.), they will be wonderful back-up
trainers!!!
*

 *
...I've done this run numerous times,
just never on Thursday morning...
...I will need to remember Thursday is trash day...
...not the most pleasant of days to
be expanding the nostrils on the hill climbs.
*
 *
...and today was a little hazy...
*
 *
...but with all the trees beginning
to show their new leaves and blossoms...
...and looking out over the beautiful
valley view...
*
 *
...a simple neighborhood run turned into quite an
enjoyable experience...even the cloud
displays were spectacular...
*
 *
...to my surprise and astonishment, a small cluster of
California Poppies had taken refuge and were vibrantly
thriving within a garden bed...
*
*
...sadly, it was the only poppy plant to be seen.
...the parched and barren hillsides are
usually solid green this time of year...
...alive with the color of lupine
and poppy plants for as far as the eye can see...
...but here we are, once again, approaching
another brown and crispy spring that's sure to lead
into the blast furnaces of summer.
*
*
...how nice...a beautiful Tiger Swallow Tail Butterfly
greeted me as I came down my walkway...
...the perfect ending to a really nice run.
*

...change someone's day...Smile, and say "Hello"!
