...BREAKING 4 HOURS IN THE MARATHON...
...a week ago today, I completed my 1st P90-X
workout, the "Plyometrics" DVD...
*
Ouch!!...I couldn't run, I could barely walk...
it hurt to even touch my legs...
*
...a gentle mountain bike ride over the
weekend finally helped alleviate the pain
and loosen my legs back to normal...
*
I'm beginning to believe the movements and
the workouts are just too extreme for what is needed
to build effective running muscles...
*
For many years I have had visions of getting in
the best of shape using my P90-X DVD's in tandem
with my running and mountain biking training routine...
Add a workout in here and there to build muscle
strength and fitness, yet everytime I am
set back several days to recover from the
intense fatigue and soreness.
*
...it would be nice to get serious, and break
the 4 hour marathon time...2 years ago, coming somewhat close
by running a 4:12, and with very limited training
under the belt, it seems possible...
...running only 3 days a week, with the longest
training run for distance, around 18 miles, I was
surprised to take 19 minutes off my previous time.
*
...it came so easily, I often wonder what could
be possible with a more structured training
regimen...(?)
*
...discipline and follow-through will be key.
